New Brunswick’s Future

New Brunswick is currently facing significant social and political challenges that are creating divisions within our communities.

These challenges are amplified by social media platforms that thrive on controversy and conflict. In such a polarized environment, fostering real-life connections and understanding has never been more crucial.

You can help to bridge these divides by encouraging face-to-face conversations, helping us build a more inclusive and empathetic New Brunswick.

We Need to Talk about New Brunswick’s Future

More and more, the time we spend on social media makes us forget that we are talking to other humans with full and complicated lives, just like us. These people are real New Brunswickers; they are our neighbours, part of our families and members of our community. Online debates often deepen societal divides and make us feel like we can’t trust those who think differently. Social media platforms are designed to provoke strong reactions, promoting content that incites anger and division. In such a politically divided time, this anger and division is dangerous for the future of New Brunswick.

However, research shows that even a 15-minute face-to-face discussion can foster understanding and change minds. These in-person conversations allow us to share personal experiences and form genuine connections, which can bridge divides and foster mutual respect.

We need to prioritize these real-life discussions. By getting offline and talking face-to-face, we can counter misinformation and build a more inclusive and empathetic community. Let’s take action by sharing our stories, listening to others, and working together to create a more understanding and supportive society. It’s time to reignite some hope for a better future. It’s time to get offline and talk.
